St. Etienne M le M16. The caliber is 8x50 mm Lebel. This is the upgraded model of the 1892 French Berthier. It is in excellent condition. The barrel date is 1919. The seriel # is L E 57043. All seriel #s match on the stock, trigger guard, barrel and bolt. This rifle was probably used in combat because it has repairs done to the stock "excellent wood patch repair".
