I am the gun doctor.
The most common problem with the P22 is when it locks up and the hammer is stuck.
This is because someone left the trigger lock on the on position and someone simply slides the slide back. Then whammy!!! It’s all locked up. The hammer is stuck on the cocked position, and you can’t pull the trigger, and most of all. You can’t use the key to unlock it.
Here is how you fix it in 10 seconds.
Step (1) Remove the slide
Step (2) On the right side of the hammer is a little silver bar. Push down and the hammer releases and goes back forward.
Step (3) Use the key then easily unlock the trigger lock.
Presto!!!! Put the slide back on and you’re ready for action.
This beats the crap out of sending it back to the factory to get it fixed.
That’s about three weeks without your gun.
