BROWNING ~ .22 AUTOMATIC RIFLE SN#2389 1st Year Gun, Mf

Here's a very nice FN/Belgian made Browning .22 Automatic Takedown rifle. This rifle was manufactured in 1956, the very first year of production, and I received directly from the original owner! Chambered for the .22 Long Rifle, this Browning has a 19-1/4" barrel with the desirable early style 4-position "wheel" rear sight. A Grade I rifle, it has tasteful engraving on each side of the receiver and a rich blue finish. This rifle is in excellent overall condition, and completely original. All parts are correct, including the large port buttstock, early barrel with "St. Louis" address, and early magazine tube. The factory blue finish rates about 97-98% with very little finish wear aside from a small amount of corrosion on the buttplate from standing on a damp surface. There is no significant rust or pitting elsewhere. The stocks are in very good original condition as well with some handling wear and a few dents and dings but no cracks or chips. The wood has never been sanded or refinished. There is some scattered flaking of the finish on forend but the great majority of the original varnish remains. This handy little rifle is in perfect working order and has an excellent, bright/sharp bore. The serial number (T2389) is matching on the front of the receiver, front of the trigger assembly, and top of the buttplate. A nice early and completely original example!
