Springfield WW2 M1 GARAND

NO RESERVE!! Here's a very nice looking WWII Springfield M1 Garand that was manufactured in about January of 1945. It was purchased back in 1991 through the DCM and was subsequently restored by the new owner to WWII configuration. The various drawing numbers are correct for an M1 in this serial number range and the Springfield barrel is dated 1-45. The WWII op rod has been modified with the typical 3/16" relief cut. Overall condition is very good with some normal finish wear but no rust or any pitting. The stock is in excellent shape and the original SA/NFR inspection and crossed cannons cartouche are clearly legible. There are no cracks, chips or large dings or gouges. This rifle is in excellent mechanical condition with everything working as it should. The bore is bright and free of pitting. The throat erosion measures about 4.1 while the muzzle wear measures about 2.8. This rifle includes an original canvas sling and comes with the original DCM box and all paperwork showing it was shipped from Anniston Army Depot in 1991. The M1 Gar-and was instrumental in turning the tide of WWII. In fact, "Old Blood & Guts" General George S. Patton declared the M1 Garand as "the greatest battle implement ever devised." This would make a nice addition to your WWII collection.
