MARLIN 1897 TAKEDOWN 22 MADE IN 1897 24"OCTAGON

Made in 1897 before non-corrosive primers were invented, the 24" OCTAGON barrel has a dark rough bore. It has the optional BEECH COMBINATION front sight and ROCKY MOUNTAIN rear (IVORY BEAD INTACT ON BEECH FRONT), and a full length magazine tube (high capacity), finish is silver/ brown/ gray. The action is smoother than my 39 Mountie made in 1980 and operates properly. I've had it out many times for plinking but it was still in use as a farm gun when I bought it over 20 years ago. If you've ever seen a Turnbull restoration this would be a good candidate for it.
