US - Eddystone Model 1917 Rifle

US - Model 1917 Rifle - Made at the Eddystone Arsenal operated by Remington in 1917.

This Rifle is a 1917 Production Military Rifle produced in 1917. The barrel appears original and like so many of the Eddystone rifles is marked H. S. (High Standard Mfg.)

This Rifle was purchased by a WW II vet in the early 1960s and it includes the original Leather Sling. It may have been reworded before being sold in the 60s by the NRA. This was common of all rifles during WW I that may have been re-issued in WW II. EXCEPT, this rifle has the original dark grey finish as opposed to the WW II green / grey finish. This is a very much above average WW I rifle / Model 1917.
