Smith & Wesson S&W Model 25-3, 45 Long Colt. 125th Anniversary Commemorative with matching 125th Anniversary S&W Belt Buckle. This beautiful "N" framed revolver was Issued to commemorate the 125th year of Smith & Wesson in 1977 as a 1 year only edition. It is a N.I.B. unfired example with a 6-1/2" barrel, bright blue finish, barrel marking: "Smith & Wesson 125th Anniversary", gold filled. Sideplate mark: 125th commemorative seal, gold filled. Smooth Goncalo Alves target grips with nickel plated S&W medallions, red ramp front sight, adjustable white outline rear sight. Mahogany presentation case with rosewood finish, nickel silver 125th Anniversary medallion and a Book by Roy G. Jinks: 125 Years with Smith & Wesson. As a bonus, the sale of this revolver will also include a S&W 125th Anniversary belt buckle. It is rare to find any Smith & Wesson revolver up to this time period (1970s) in the .45 Colt caliber. This was because of a “gentleman’s agreement” that Colt would produce few guns in .44 S&W Special if Smith & Wesson would produce few in .45 Colt. Since it was a rare caliber, Smith & Wesson chose it for their 125th year Anniversary Revolver. It would be a fine addition for a collection or an attention getter at the range. The quality of this era's (1970's) revolvers and the eye candy appeal of this particular commemorative make it a hard to pass up example.
