Wards 30 / Savage Stevens 520 12ga

Wards Western Field model 30, which is actually the Savage Stevens 520 pump action shotgun and was designed by John M Browning. It was first introduced in 1904 and sold with the Stevens name and also re-branded for the major catalog retailers like Montgomery Wards Western Field line. In 1920 Savage bought Stevens and continued to produce a model 520 for a number of years. This one is in great condition. There are no cracks in the walnut wood but plenty of character marks from use over the years. The barrel length is 28 inches. The action is very smooth. The shotgun can handle modern 2 3/4” ammunition but doesn’t throw the shells as well as it likely did when it was new. I simply tilt the gun a little bit to the right as I’m jacking the spent shell out, and it’s good to go. I don’t see many of these for sale anymore and almost never in this condition. Ever since my dad handed down his Winchester model 12 to me I don’t shoot this one anymore. This is a takedown model and it takes down very easily. I’m willing to trade for items of $250.00 value.
