Modified Saiga IZ 240, (Russian AK 74, 5.45x39) + Ammunition + Accessories

Set includes semi-automatic rifle, over 2,000 rounds of ammunition, 5 magazines with bag, strip clips, scope mount, holographic sight, 4-rail barrel attachment, original manual.

Rifle: manufactured in Izmach, Russia in Dec of 2012. Modified by importer Century Arms International and RWC group to accept AK 74 magazines and traditionally located pistol grip, and they replaced stock trigger with Tapco G2 (no-play featherweight 3-4 lbs, slap-free). Chrome-lined (corrosion resistant) barrel. I purchased it new in early 2014, a few months before President Obama banned Russian AKs from importation. I installed a recoil buffer behind the main spring, to minimize recoil and eliminate the loud AK “slap” sound. I picked this rifle originally because its recoil is roughly 1/2 that of an AK 47, but has the same design, better accuracy, more effective bullet, lighter loaded weight, and rated as the highest tier of quality. Rifle has shot 300 rounds of commercial non-corrosive ammo and about 30 rounds of military grade ammo (always cleaned barrel afterwards).

2190 rounds of 5.45x39 ammunition: Two Russian factory-sealed “spam” cans of 1080 rounds each, + 30 unsealed rounds. Ammunition is military grade 7n6, with the steel core and hollow cavity. For info on the performance and history of this round see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5.45%C3%9739mm . This 7n6 armor-piercing ammo is also now banned from importation from Russia to the US, but other commercial 5.45x39 ammunition is as available as any other military round these days.

5 Magazines: 3- Military (double-circle 21 type) 30-round magazines, one black and two brown; 1- brown/red Tapco 30-round; and 1 black Tapco 10-round. 3 military strip clips + loader (unused). East German military surplus magazine pouch fits 4, 30 round mags. Note, when rifle was first being broken-in, the Tapco magazines would sometimes fail to load the last round when using commercial grade short bullet (Wolf) ammunition. I have since then (2014) not used the non-military mags.

Other accessories: sling is olive-colored East German military surplus; detachable receiver-side scope mount attaches firmly; holographic sight is Pinty brand, red and green 4-image, and holds its spot; 4-rail barrel attachment originally was used for a 25mm green laser, but would fit any flashlight, bipod, laser, handle, etc just fine.

Sold as a set. Private seller located in the greater Maricopa County-Pinal County area. Be prepared to show ID and meet me in a police station parking lot. Note on price: due to recent national events, I would rather keep this set than sell it for less than the listed price.
