This rifle is a Japanese Arisaka Type 99 in 7.7 mm in excellent condition. It comes complete with bayonet, scabbard and frog.
Built in the late 1930s at the Nagoya Arsenal, the numbers on the bolt, guide and receiver all match. Serial is 61804.
It includes:
* Bayonet
* Bayonet Scabbard
* Frog
* The original monopod
* The original removable receiver plate
* The original complete Anti Aircraft sight
The "Imperial Mum" is completely intact and has not been ground off. All markings are clear and sharp.
NOTE: this rifle appears to have been re-finished. The stock is very smooth and the finish looks great. All metal parts are parkerized in a dark gray finish showing almost no sign of wear.
This gun looks brand new. The bore is clean and bright. The rifling is sharp and clear. It is plain that this weapon did not see much use.
I can provide more pictures upon request. I do not know for sure if this has been refinished or not. All I can say is that it is a beautiful piece in excellent condition and would make a nice addition to a WW2 collection.
The rifle comes with the case shown in the pictures and is priced at $500. I will consider reasonable trades.
