Winchester Lever Action 38-55, MFG. 1902, 26

I have a piece of Texas History for sale. I hate to sell it, but times are tough right now and I want this to go to a home that will value and appreciate it. What I have for sale is a Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action chambered in the timeless 38-55 cartridge. The year of manufacture was 1902.

The stock of this rifle does have two small chips in it (pictures of these chips are available upon request). The bluing is still good and there is zero rust and hardly any pitting. For a rifle that is over 100 years old, I would say that it is in remarkable condition. This gun was not a safe queen (but has been for the past 30 years). Attached are a few photographs of the rifle.

This will make an amazing Christmas present for the gun collector that has them all. Guns like this are going from $3,000 - $10,000 on gunbroker. I am up for negotiation and or trades. Update - 12.01.16

The rifle has been dropped off at my local Winchester Gun Smith for a complete deep cleaning. The cleaning is expected to be complete at or around 12.14.16. I wanted to have my smith go through each facet of the gun to verify its reliability and shootability. I will also be having it formally appraised by Winchester Gallery of Guns in Ft. Worth TX. The sale price may be reduced or increased based upon their formal appraisal. The appraisal will be on their letter head. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I can tell you the history of the rifle as well. The verbal appraisal that they gave me was $3,000 so I am reflecting this as the asking price.
