A Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) model 12 single shot .220 LR target rifle. BSA began producing training and target rifles on a mini- Martini action in 1908-11. This rifle being offered is a BSA Model 12 (AKA Famous 12) produced before WWI, probably in 1913-15 based upon the S/N. It has been upgraded to Model 13 specifications, most likely by BSA, in the early to mid-1930's. It has the Parker-Hale enblock target rear sight and tube front sight. The original Model 12 express style sight was removed. The stock is very nice but un-checkered walnut, consistent with the Model 12. It is a take-down gun, consistent with the M12. The brass tin with front sight apertures is inlet into the fore end as on the M13. A complete set of insets are in the container on this rifle. Condition of this gun is excellent, in the 85-90% range. Most of these rifles were kept in English "Mini Shooting Clubs" vaults and were only shot at the club. No rust, no pitting, bore is bright, wood is excellent. This gun shoots VERY well and does it's best work not with Eley Tenex or other high end target ammo, but with bulk pack Federal Target.
