I have a vintage and rare Remington Model 25 slide-action, take-down rifle in 25-20 Winchester CF. Collectible and all original with step adjustable buckhorn rear sight and metal bead front sight. I'm told this little hammerless rifle is one of fewer than 35,000 manufactured between 1923 and 1936.When I was a youngster, it was my number-one gun for small and medium-size game and for carrying along the trap line. Its overall 41.5 inch length, 10-round tubular magazine and quick action were perfect solutions for a long day in the woods. The rifle's weight of just over five pounds and the gun's take down length of only 28 inches also make it convenient to pack in for longer hiking and camping trips. Considering its age, this rifle is in in great shape. The bore is bright and the gun is mechanically sound. Although scuffed some, the furniture retains some of its original finish and neither the stock nor forearm is cracked as far as I can tell. The 24" barrel has a nice brown patina and the receiver and and tubular magazine still have much of their original finish. I've seen the same rifle in worse condition sell on Gunbroker.com and elsewhere in the $750 to $900 range.
