S&W Model 686 .357

Nice, clean and solid 686. 4 inch barrel. Dull gray bead blast finish was standard on the CS1 models. Took pictures with phone...not the best pics, I can get better pics if needed.

A 686 no dash model. Does have the 'M' stamp indicating it was returned to the factory for the hammer nose bushing replacement.

This gun is stamped CS1. It is from the mid '80s, commissioned by Janet Reno. There were between 3000 and 3500 of these bought for and used by US Customs Service agents. In about 1988 they were pulled from service and somewhere between 1500 and 2000 of the guns were destroyed. This is a survivor along with about 1500 or so others. They were to be destroyed so that they were not put into the hands of the public...some escaped the destruction. Here is a great opportunity to own, not only a great revolver, but also one used in the service of our country and one that is fairly rare due to a great story. Not many around anymore.
