Vetterli Rife were series (originated in Switzerland) of Swiss army service rifles is use from 1869-1890. Swiss Vetterli rifles combined American Winchester Model 1866's tubular magazine with regular bolt for the first two opposed rear locking lugs. Vetterli was the replacement for Amsler-Milbank rifles, which were metallic cartridge conversion from previous muzzle-loading rifles. This rifle was used by Swiss Army and some by Russian Army (captured from shipment to Finland). Manufacturer: SIG and Waffentabrik, 36,700 built. (Short sword included.)
