I wanted a shoulder holster to carry my 1911 and won too many bids on Ebay. When I got the holsters, I found them all too bulky for me and my activities. I still prefer a kidney carry although with a smaller weapon. This paricular one has a break in the strap behind the butt of the gun. It should attach just forward of the tip and perpendicular to the strap coming out of the top. In the picture of the back of the holster it is as it would look if attached. The other strap that attaches to the buckle seems to have lost a little of its length. It is a Hunter marked "56L" on the back. Couldn't find it on their charts but got it as a 1911 holster. I'm guessing that the strap on the back with a snap goes around your belt to hold the holster down while drawing. It has no safety strap but holds the pistol snugly.
