This is a 45 caliber Thompson Center Hawken muzzleloader I built from a kit. I have not seen a stock one with the woodwork on the stock this nice. There is one defect that was my doing. I hunted one very rainy day, didn't unload (shoot) the gun, then hunted the next, well below freezing day, and when I shot the gun it developed a crack that you can see in the photo. Ice must have formed around the breech and the shot shock transferred into the wood. I have since shot it many times without any changes in the crack or anything else. The barrel has some discoloration and could stand to be re-blued, there is no significant corrosion. I have always cleaned it after each day of shooting.
