Walther P38 German 9MM by Interarms 1976 Prod

Walther P38.Made in West Germany & Distributed by Interarms. In excellent condition. Has the “Starburst” Interarms roll mark. Manufactured date “1976” on the left side of trigger guard with the German Eagle Stamp. It has an aluminum frame and steel reinforcement, that Interarms initiated in 1975, making the gun more durable. Note the steel hex lug going through the frame, behind the take down lever, extends service life by providing a hardened steel wear surface for the locking cam. The slides were also updated and I believe they’re called Fat Slides. I believe because of the Mfg. date, hex lug, and white dot sights it is a Fat Slide, but won’t represent it as such. These updates make it the finest and most durable version P38 made. It has the white dot front and rear sights with the number 2 on left side of front blade. I understand they’re called Von-Stavenhagen style sights. On the lower front portion of barrel it’s marked 9 Para w/German Eagle Stamp & the letter N. On side of barrel by the locking cam it’s stamped Walther. Frame, slide, & box are matching serial #’s. Don’t be confused, this is NOT a recent import and NOT a Police or Military Post War P38 trade-in, of which there are many. P38’s like this one don’t come up for sale very often. I am the second owner. I acquired it from the estate of the original owner over two years ago. I’m selling it to reduce my collection. The original owner purchased it new in the mid 1970’s through the gun store that I managed at the time. He was a regular customer and avid collector. All the guns in his estate, like this P38, were either shot very little or not at all and were well maintained. The gun comes with the 2 original factory magazines, serial # matching factory box, original factory sight-in target & factory manual. There is some very slight bluing wear on the pointed corner or edge of the slide. It’s difficult to rate the finish because everyone has their own opinion, but if I had to, I would say the overall condition of fit, finish, bore, magazines, and grips are all 96-98%. The gun was shot very little. I've personal shot 1 magazine to check and it functions flawlessly. I'm not a dealer, this is in my personal collection.
