Model 1936 French MAS

Model 1936 French Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Elienne (MAS) The Model 1936 French MAS was the MBR (main battle rifle) For all French Forces during WW2. Yes France surrendered to Germany but by the time of the invasion of Europe there were 1.3 million Free French fighting for the Allies. This
was their MBR. It also served with them as a MBR during the Korean War, Algerian War, 1st Indochina Was, Suez Crisis, it served the Viet Cong durng
the Vietnam war and both sided during the Cambodian Civil war. In 1953 in order to conform to NATO standards all French MBRs were converted to
7.62x51 (308) and the Model 1936 was relegated to sniper duty. This Rifle has got the three screw mount system on the side indicating it was one of their sniper rifles which means this rifle remained in service with the French military until 1984. I have found the scope mounting hardware and have put a scope on the rifle. The scope is not the Leaper like the Original had but a Bushnell 3x-9x40 and have also add a lace on cheek plate to lift the eye up to the scope level There is a 12 inch spike bayonet stored in the rifle under the barrel in a storage tube. it is mounted by turning it around and sticking the handle into the storage space. Also it has a nice leather strap.
