Safari Arms Phoenix Centenial 1911 .45 ACP

M-S Safari Arms Phoenix Centennial Matchmaster .45 A.C.P. This is one of a proposed run of 101 guns commemorating the 100 years of the City of Phoenix, (1881-1981) the home town of M-S Safari Arms. Each is dated for a year of the 100. The frame is made of beryllium copper, and is fully functional. It is estimated that fewer than 25 of these were ever made as they built them only when an order was placed and a year for the serial number selected. The slide is blue and etched with designs on both sides and the top. The various parts visble on the exterior are either color case hardened or beryllium copper. The color case hardening was done by Pete Mazur, and the finely checkered presentation walnut grips were made by Steve Herrett. This is based on the Matchmaster model 1911, hand fitted and tuned, with a precision fitted bushing and welded and cut barrel lug. It comes in a walnut presentaton case with a French fitted velvet interior. The front sight is beryllium copper and the rear sight is s strawed S&W adjustable. The long trigger is strawed. The listing in the Blue book is seriously confused about the history, but the pricing is in the ball park. I don't think this gun has ever been fired and appears to be in excellent, complete condition. Asking $1200 OBO
